Spring Home Maintenance Edition 2025
Legacy Park Neighbors,
As the first flowers begin to bloom and we welcome the warmer days ahead, we're excited to share some seasonal reminders and tips to help keep our neighborhood beautiful. Spring officially arrives this Thursday, March 20th, making it the perfect time to refresh our outdoor spaces!
Working Together for a Beautiful Community
We all take pride in our lovely neighborhood, and your efforts to maintain your property don't go unnoticed. Well-kept yards not only enhance our community's appearance but also help maintain property values for everyone. As we enter the growing season, let's join together in keeping Legacy Park looking its best.
Spring Lawn Care Tips
Now is the ideal time to give your lawn some attention after the winter months:
Weed Prevention: Early spring is perfect for applying pre-emergent treatments before weeds have a chance to take hold. While DIY options are available, professional lawn services often provide more effective results for persistent weed issues.
Lawn Restoration: If you have bare patches in your yard, the next 60 days offer optimal conditions for seeding or sodding. With proper watering and care, these areas can flourish into lush green spaces by summer.
Regular Maintenance: As your grass begins growing more actively, regular mowing, edging along sidewalks and curbs, and proper clipping disposal will keep everything looking neat. Remember that blowing clippings into storm drains violates Bixby city ordinances and can cause drainage problems.
Friendly Reminders from Our Covenants
Our community guidelines help ensure Legacy Park remains a beautiful place to live:
Each homeowner is responsible for maintaining their entire lot, including the strip between sidewalks and street.
Landscaped areas should be properly edged, weeded, and mulched.
Irrigation systems should be checked and maintained to ensure proper watering throughout the season.
Need Some Help?
If yard work isn't your thing or you're short on time, our community has several reliable service providers who can help:
- Ryan Lawn and Tree
- Fairway Lawns
- TruGreen

- Three Oaks Landscape

Please note: The service providers listed above are mentioned solely as resources to assist homeowners. This list is not comprehensive nor does it constitute an endorsement by the LPOA Board. Homeowners are welcome to use these or any other qualified service providers of their choosing.

Fence Maintenance
Many of our original fences are now 15+ years old and showing their age. If you find yourself constantly replacing boards or propping up leaning sections, it might be time for a full replacement. A good rule of thumb from fencing professionals: consider full replacement when you're replacing 20% or more of the boards.
For shared fences, we encourage friendly conversations with neighbors about splitting costs. Most residents are happy to share the expense for boundary fences when approached collaboratively.
Exterior Maintenance
Home improvements like fresh paint, repaired shutters, and well-maintained garage doors don't just make your home look great—they're investments that pay off for everyone. When we all take care of our properties, our entire community becomes more attractive to potential buyers, which helps maintain and even increase our home values.
Some quick projects to consider this season:
- Touch up peeling or faded exterior paint
- Repair or replace damaged shutters
- Clean, maintain, paint and in some cases replace garage doors
Community Spirit
We're fortunate to live in such a wonderful neighborhood with caring residents. Your efforts to maintain your property contribute to making Legacy Park a place we're all proud to call home. Thank you for being part of our community and for your commitment to keeping it beautiful.
